Woodlands Secondary’s
25 th ANNUAL SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2009

Our school’s annual School Track & Field Championships 2009 was held at the Woodlands Sports Stadium on 12 th March 2009 . The atmosphere was electrifying and intense. It was clear that our athletes indeed worked hard towards excellence – they did the school proud and displayed a great sense of sportsmanship in all events. Their feats took immense courage and determination and the enthusiastic supporters appreciated that.

In view of the Asian Youth Games, this year’s Track & Field Championships was themed “ADOPT AN ASIAN COUNTRY” . Each class was tasked with designing the flag of their assigned country, preparing a mini presentation and adorning their country’s ethnic costumes. A representative from each ‘country’ was then quizzed on some trivia on the country they represented.

We also had the honor of having one of Singapore ’s Olympic hero, Mr C.Kunalan to grace us with his presence as our Guest-of-Honor. Thrilled at having Singapore ’s 100m Olympic Hero watching them, our students gave their best show possible on and off the track. Our sincere thanks to Mr Kunalan for patiently signing unending autographs and posing for the numerous cameras with his unwavering smile.

What was most heartening was the positive attitude displayed by everyone and we are definitely looking forward to the next annual School Track & Field Championships 2010!
